The installation of Avast 8 also includes installation of Google Chrome. If there was an opt out box for Chrome it was nearly unnoticeable. The last time Chrome was installed on my computer, after I uninstalled it it was necessary for me to go into the registry and remove items so any other browser would work correctly. I have always considered software companies that allowed the installation of unwanted software to be sleazy and no one I want to do businesses. Ergo, I now consider Avast to be among them and will remove it and warn others of its business practices.
I believe “nearly unnoticeable” does not equal ‘not available’.
There is an option to not install Chrome if one takes the time to follow all install instructions.
Also, I would recommend never using the “default Install” when installing any software. I personally always check out the " Custom Install" option first. ![]()
Unnoticeable? How?
Looks clear to me! 8)
