I have installed Avast anti-theft on my Android 4.1.1 device with a SIM with phone number X. Then I went for a trip abroad and, for the time of the trip, installed another SIM, with number Y. I came back and changed back to number X three days ago.
Today, Avast suddenly notified me by email that I’ve got a new phone number, Y. (Though I have my old one for three days already.) At the my.avast.com page, I see the phone status as Security Status: UNTRUSTED SIM, phone number Y.
Can anyone explain this behaviour to me please and hint on how to tell Avast that this is actually a trusted phone number?
trusted SIM list is inside the antitheft application interface, so to add new SIM number you have to insert your PIN and open the antitheft interface. When unknown SIM is inserted and antitheft has not been opened yet, the application will resolve this as a untrusted SIM and may perform more stepes (lock the device, run sirene or both etc.). Such a SIM is visible on the portal side as red icon and string saying so. When trusted SIM is returned back, the information about this action is polled to the portal and it will update it. How quick the update is done depends on which network you are operating and how the data services are managed by your device (and off course the accessibility of them).
Perfect, thank you. It would be nice to have this instruction in the online interface too. Something like “make current SIM trusted” and then the instructions what to do in the device.
