I think I have some malware that you haven’t detected.
It pops up (looking like a little comic policeman) telling me my computer is slow, or that it has some fantastic deal that can save me money.
Also it tries to make me download a product I don’t want (Google Chrome) and is sneaky about the way that it hides this in the download app.
Do you know which piece of intrusive, invasive hacker virus might have taken over my computer ?
This could not possibly be something that I have installed deliberately.
I may have to upgrade my anti-virus software.
Do you know any good ones ?
Youmay have a pup or browser hijacker
For removal help, post in viruses and worms forum section

Scroll down a bit when you get there.
Doing a custom install or paying attention during any installation/update could avoid these issues.
Of course you could continue to use avast
Subtle sarcasm often goes over the heads of many.
Yeh, I noticed.
Avast used to be such a great product, I would recommend it to everyone, once. It did everything a good virus scanner should do, and it got on with the job quietly.
I think you should hear from a good virus scanner for two reasons; when it detects a virus and when it’s time for renewal. Otherwise it should just STFU.
But now, every upgrade there is more and more bloat, and it just gets more and more intrusive. Specials and sales and product advertising.
Avast has lost its class.
Those pesky minions.
