Wondering if you someone could help. Been having probs with my other Hp computer, its running on Windows 7, started with finding the number 1 repeating right across my search bar after loading google (which is my home page) then to find all search bars doing the same , and in my password window on windows start up the asterisks run right across it continuously. I have been trying to find out if there is a recent virus which does this but to no avail. I have run avast (free home edition) at least twice it has found no virus so far. So far have tried going to an earlier restore point that hasnt solved the problem and have done boot scan. There were some Hewlett Packard File that was in the Health Check program saying it was corrupted would this have anything to do with it? I am not to knowing with computers and would appreciate any help.

Just a completely different possibility, at all.
Power down your computer. Turn your keyboard upside down, and press every single key one at a time, several times each key. Then “play” with the keyboard, pressing the keys in different combinations (as if you were playing a concert or alike).
Power up your system and test if the problems are gone.
In any case, please report back.

When you have an electrical problem. Start by making sure there is electricity.
If you have a data entry problem, make sure the problem isn’t with the part that enters the data.

If you press a key “continuously”, you get the same key repeated in almost any program or “field” you are working on.
The keyboard won’t do this “by itself”, and simple “dust” wouldn’t do it either. But, just for example, some people tend to eat over their keyboards (and I have no indication that the OP is one of those). A piece of bread (for example) could have get into the keyboard and could be pressing some keys.
In (very) old keyboards, a simple piece of metal (commonly found in offices) could close the circuit and could give the same effect as if the user would be pressing a key.
Those are examples only, and I have no way to know if those examples are relevant in this particular case. I just though of a simple possibility, a different explanation, instead of thinking that a terrible malware is somehow controlling the system. By cleaning the keyboard upside down and pressing all the keys, some “chunk” of dirt may fall out and the problem could be solved.
This was / is simple speculation, and I just suggested it as a potential alternative solution to a potential different problem that could be showing the same final behaviour to the user. Only the feedback of the OP can tell us if this somehow solve the problem or not.

I may add that most modern BIOSs would report this problem. 
Only in the case when some key is pressed continuously when the POST runs.
This may not be the case. I have seen cases where some key is pressed by the user, and suddenly the next key (near the one just pressed by the user) “stucks”, hence seeing a similar behaviour described by the user.
