On 07/28/2017 a charge of $53.61 posted to my bank account as Dri*avast Software 9529084089 Mn.
On 07/31/2017 I called the (952)908-4089 number and got connected to a Digital River rep who told me DR provided pay services for various clients. She found the record of that charge and promised to email details within an hour — but did not. It would appear the $53.61 was for a purchase of some Avast-related software.
I am a several years user of the FREE Avast Antivirus But regularly decline offers to update to a Paid version. (That’s only $20, anyway not $53+.) I have NOT purchased ANY software nor have I entered bank account or credit card info within the past couple weeks. I have verified my Avast account info is correct. I have received no emails related to online purchases or registration.
Would Avast charge me for anything without sending me a confirmation/activation email? Is the $53.61 amount proper for an Avast product/service? Is there a way to contact Avast about this incident?
