Unfair renew?

If I try to renew my 2 years/3 PC sub, I have to pay more, than if I would purchase a new license, because renewals don’t get the running special discounts. It is very unfair, and makes me switch to another security product.

Well you have the choice to choose either renew or new, whichever is the better option for you at the time.

You aren’t forced to renew through the avastUI, you can purchase a new license on-line and get whatever deal happens to be available at that time. But the license period begins at the time of purchase, so you don’t want to do it too early or the saving might be negated. Then it is a matter of entering the new license in the same way you did before.

I can’t recall exactly, but I believe there is a renewal discount applied when you do renew through the avastUI. Also when renewing through the avastUI the renewal license period begins on the expiry date of the existing license, not at the time of purchase.

and if you want, give them a link to this topic, or simply ask them directly about how to proceed. Provide them with specific info, like your current license expiration date, and what you saw advertise at a lower cost… Every detail would be relevant.

That’s not what I heard from Julia. She said to pay for the early renewal and then send her an email with the details. I decided not to do that.

The comment from Julia doesn’t relate to updates through the avastUI, it has for some time now taken your existing license period into account so you don’t lose days on your renewal of the license period.

It would only be necessary (as I mentioned) if you purchased by any other means than through the avastUI as there is currently no way to connect this purchase with your existing license. So it starts immediately on purchase and this is what can be corrected by sales by extending the new license period to take into account your days left.
