Unified AntiX software in general - why not since beginning

Concerning Avast 4.8 ( I use Avast since avast32 ) and antiX SW in general,

I am always wondering overs the years, why viruses and malware are not scanned by the only application.

The nature of them is very similar ( behavior, not distribution ). The need of malware detection software seems to me excessive, like eating a soup by 2 spoons.

I understand some marketing reasons if companies producing adware complain, if adware part falls into the same category like viruses. But all is a matter of proper categorization.

This is a VIRUS, or TROJAN, OR SPYWARE, or WHATEVER and it is BAD.

This is investigated…

This is an ADWARE part of a software, not hiding itself, doing, what says it is doing and YOU decided to installed it. AntiX software could optionally also detect what apps are installing/launching it and offer uninstall such SW ( as the whole, not just ad part ).

Edit: I would understand some second app ( also antiALL X as the best ) for on demand confirmation. But having 2 resident shields instead of the only one is excessive.

I also understand 2 concepts : “Unix-like: Be small, do one thing and do it well” and “Windows:Be Able to do anything the user wants, even if being complex and bloated”.

The question is, that many realtime code structures can be doubled now in function, doing the same or similar things, only over other set of objects.

So I am very glad to see Avast is going on the way I always like it to go on…
