Uninstall Crashing Issue. MacBook Pro running 10.6.8

After installation of avast!, my Mac can no longer connect to my Airport network or receive email until a shut off Mail Shield and Web Shield – 66% of the avast! features. We have tried resetting the network connection, but it does not work.

Attempts at uninstallation result in “the window shade crash” and manual button restart.

Any solutions, workarounds or feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Please provide some more info, otherwise there is not much we can do…
We need at least the system log (/var/log/system.log) and the list of the kernel extensions you have loaded (the output of the kextstat command).
