Hi,
Have uninstalled Avast Pro on Windows 8 64bit only to find my keyboard is disabled. Cannot access my pc or get past my logon screen, Tried using another board including a ps2 connector rather than USB to no avail. Board works in the BIOS but is disabled when I get to the logon screen.
Just seen this is a known problem but how on earth did Avast uninstaller allow the keyboard hooks to remain in the registry?
Cannot logon to my pc, how do I get past that problem?
Have no idea what Avast did…but I have seen couple other threads were folks have claimed this happened…very odd.
I’m just a poster…not expert by any means…my only suggestion is to try to boot into Safe Mode.
If you can get there perhaps you can re-install the keyboard driver.
Just a thought.
I don’t know whether or not Windows 8 has this option but with Windows 8.1 I can start an on screen keyboard. Maybe you’ve already tried this? If you cannot log in guess the on screen keyboard wouldn’t work.
