Uninstall Safe Browser

Avast Secure Browser Avast Secure Browser for Windows

I have Windows 7. I have tried to uninstall the Safe Browser without success. I have tried via the Control Panel and also downloaded the removal tool but nothing happens. It appears in the Processes section of Task Manager.

I would be grateful for any help.

Since the removal is done within the Avast program, I assume you’re running an older version of Avast? SafeZone Browser is old and obsolete and has been replaced by Avast Secure Browser.

It came as part of a recent upgrade of Free Avast. It is product version 72.0.1151.81

Thanks. That seems to have done the trick.

I have Firefox and one of the Add-Ons is Avast Online Security (Avast Browser Security and Web Reputation Plugin), which is disabled. Is it OK to remove it?
