Using Revo Uninstaller Pro, I’ve botched an uninstall of Avast Free (v. 2014.9.0.2013). Am now saddled with a gigantic pile of Avast leftovers that Windows refuses to delete.
From C:\Program Files, a screenshot of the carnage (for viewing, or downloading):
Fantastic. Thank you very much, Craig. Just the ticket!
Two more questions:
1. The AvastClear page says: “Sometimes it’s not possible to uninstall avast! the standard way - using the ADD/REMOVE PROGRAMS in control panel. In this case, you can use our uninstallation utility avastclear.”
Does this mean that AvastClear is always the best way to uninstall Avast? I won’t use a third-party uninstaller on Avast again, but is Windows Add/Remove Programs also useless?
2. You say: “Never use third party programs to remove security software as you now know.”
I didn’t know that, so thanks for the info. Does this apply to all security software, or just to Avast?
My crappy mood has done a one-eighty since this morning, thanks to you. Again, I appreciate your help!
