Is there a way to setup an “uninstall task” in ADNM?
In other words, if I want to delete Avast 4.8 netclient from a PC can I do it through the ADNM console or do I have to do it locally on that machine?

Yes, the better way is via uninstallation task, see manual about uninstallation…
When it failed, you can do it manually (via remote desktop or localy) from Add/Remove programs. When it failed, use Avast cleaner utility

For others that may have overlooked it:
Under the first window when creating New task, there is a dropdown box. Select “Uninstall managed product(s)”
