unknown ap installed on my pc

I received a pm supposedly from a Facebook friend. When I clicked on the link, it installed something called “Sandbox” on my computer. I went to "Add/Remove Programs, but couldn’t find it. I also ran a scan with Avast, but it turned up nothing.

I contacted my friend, and she said she was hacked, and that she hadn’t sent the pm. So, I expect that whatever change it made to my computer was not benign. How can I get rid of whatever it installed on my computer?
