Unknown devices appeared on my connected to my wifi network list

Hi folks!, i m having trouble to identify two devices connected to my wifi network, detected by Avast Internet security 2015 , Tool: Scan for network threats

First one appears as eM Technics Co Ltd, the other one as SONY CORPORATION.

How can i found more information about it? things like MAC, BRAND or stuff like that?

Search in google shown the first one as a Satellite TV Box, the other one as a playstation.

Funny or intrigue thing is that my router doesnt detect them!

How can i get rid of them if my router doesnt even detect them?

Hope somebody can help

thanks for reading.

Tried to factory resett your router, and setting it up again with a new password? also check if new router firmware is available...

Are you using Win10?
If so check your privacy settings.

Thanks for reply!

I did router reset and one of the intruders still appears eM Technics, Co Ltd. (Tv satellite box???)

I will try later the other suggestion

Another interesting thing, clock and date freezes when i turn off my computer, i.e., if i let it off for two days when i restart it its clock shows shutdown date & time. ???

By the way, upgrading the router firmware is not an option, i contact my cable Service and it doesnt allow me to do that, just told me they are going to track my connection until they find the problem, and ask me if i allow them to do that, i say yes.

Hope that solve my problem

i keep in contact

I’ve had 18 unknown devices connecting just in the time since I left for work this morning. This has happened before, and I changed internet providers, and formed a new wifi network. Now the hackers are back. The new setup comes with an ap that shows me devices connected to my network… but not these sneaky ones… that are probably my shady neighbours on the floor above me.

My real question: If Avast can recognize and log unknown devices accessing my wifi network… why can’t it BLOCK them? Or send back punitive software weapons that overclock devices until they catch fire, so I can listen to the wails and lamentations of shady international college students? :smiling_face_with_horns:

…Okay, that last is probably wishful thinking, but I should think the ability to permanently block devices a far more reasonable expectation.

EDIT: Christ… this topic is TEN YEARS OLD?? I should probably go to tech support if I want an answer then?

No. But you should have created a new thread, if it is Avast that is indicating unknown devices.
Surely your wifi is protected with strong password etc. Maybe it is a false alert?
Start a new topic, stating which program is showing you unknown devices connected.

If you have Avast Antivirus, post in specific sub-forum here: Avast Free Antivirus / Premium Security - Avast Community
