I have here a unknown dialer and only Kaspersky can detect it as a porndialer. Is this true and can Avast detect Dialers
try spybot s&d or ad-aware?
Stephen,
Any other identification on the dialer?
Where is it located?
Did Kaspersky identify it?
Most dialers are spyware and/or adware but some can be outright virus driven. These connection your computer to sites that will download a virus.
As has been said, Spybot and Adware are good defenses.
Also, SpywareGuard and SpywareBlaster are excellent programs that run resident on your computer to prevent the insertion or execution of most spyware. They are freeware and updated often (all free).
I had spywareblaster on my pc fully updated.Adaware and spybot can’t find it.The name of it is PornWare.Dialer.Star
Stephan,
I do not believe that Avast would detect this dialer.
Dialers are more trojan than virus.
Spybot most certainly detects dialers, but this one may not be on the list. You can add it.
Adaware is also very effective.
I would send an email to support for Adaware at Lavasoft and to Spybot. They should then add the file to their signature list.
A trojan detection program called A2 by Andreas Haak will detect this dialer. The program is freeware as far as I know but has some shortcomings.
Good luck
Okey i should to that and i scan that dialer with A2
