I het the message “unknown mbr code” from aswmbr.exe. Is this because Asus has a different MBR or can i have a rootkit? I have a Asus Laptop pro15L.
What made you run aswMBR.exe ?
Please post the contents of the full log.

one thing, i have on my Asus expressgate (a light linux distribution) that i can start with a button on my laptop. Could that be the reason for the unknown MBR?
That killed the cat.
Whilst Asus may have a customized MBR code, it rather depends on if it has a recovery partition (usually hidden) so you can access the Recovery Console, which would enable you to restore the system to factory settings ?
Yes i have a recovery console. So, problem solved? By the way, thanks for your help!
You’re welcome.
Yes, David is right, probbably the recovery partition. I have the same here on two Asus laptops.
Greetz, Red.
Ok Rednose thanks for you’re reply. I can sleep tonight. ;D
