Unknown url in popup

Hi all,
Avast Web protection is showing me a the threat popup (you can look at it here: https://imgur.com/a/Bqm8M) but I’m not visiting the referenced url at the time of popup being showed. I visited that page only one time on Dec, 9th so I don’t understand why Avast is notifying this right now.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Sergio

Thanks but … why should I install others anti-virus/malware tools (MalwareBytes, Farbar, …)? I already have Avast installed, is it not enough to troubleshoot the issue?

@Asyn, from the screenshot it seems he is using Mac

JS:Serhoxs seems to be a adware detection on website

Thanks Pondus, I usually don’t follow external screenshot links.

Sometimes when you are sick you need to go to the doctor because the medicine you have dont work. So the doctor will then take some tests (diagnostic) to find out what and why it does not work, there may be something new not seen before

NO security program have 100% detection or zero false positives, if they did then internet malware would not be a problem

Anyway as seen on your screenshot, a apllication (processo:) in your computer is trying to connect to that URL

Thank you all, guys for your replies.

@Asyn, I linked a screenshot as external image because I didn’t find a way to paste here in the post.

@Pondus, crystal clear. In my mind the first attempt to find the root cause would be to identify the process in my computer that is triggering the alert, instead of checking if it is a false positive of my antivirus.

@Pondus, the process showed by Avast as cause of the popup is a system process aimed to manage networking communication so it is telling nothing to me about which is the application process who requested that URL. The only thing I know is that the application process is not Safari or Chrome (the browsers I usually use). So one question I have is: is Avast able to detect the real application process requesting that url or not? There is any log file I can look at for that?
