Remember that Avast needs (parts of) IE to show the help.
If you don’t like IE, just leave it on the system.
Many other applications also need (parts of) it to function.
Just use another browser.
Yep, I agree. If you run a Windows system, it’s crazy to try to completely remove IE from your computer. You don’t have to use it, so don’t. Go download Firefox and be happy.

I realise now that IE is integral to Windows…it was just a pest when it fired up due to a toolbar that had latched onto it…caused all sorts of problems.
