unwanted flashing icon in my toolbar

Hello, Please help, I have an icon in my toolbar that keeps flashing that i have a virus or trojan.If I click on the icon it takes me to this website: www.virprotect.com. I feel like they are trying to bully me into using their ‘‘protection’’
How can I get rid of this annoying icon? This kind of bully tactic by virprotect is unethical…and the only virus I suspect that I have on my computer is their own ‘‘trojan’’!!!

  It appears you have what we call a "rogue/suspect" program !? In an
  attempt to "remove" it, BEST to start by using the FREE "RogueRemover",
  available at www.malwarebytes.org/rogueremover.php .
