Unwanted web browser loads itself in place of Chrome

When I try to open Chrome on my user “account” an alternative browser appears (there were two alternative browsers: your suggestions helped to remove one. (The programs that you suggested I try listed two “harmful” files that refused permission to delete them.) Chrome opens correctly on the remaining user “accounts” on the computer.

Earlier I had run a windows search on the remaining program: I copied the result and tried to print it to MS Word and received the following message:

“Word cannot obtain the data for C:\Users\John Kater\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\User Data\Default\Pepper Data\Shockwave\Flash\WriteableRoot#SharedObjects\NR 5WBVXL\launch.newsinc.com\42\js\lib\amp.premier
AkamaPremierPlayer-static.swf link”

I attach the files requested by you.

Hello,

OTL log is messed up, we will try an alternative:

Please download Farbar Recovery Scan Tool by Farbar and save it to your desktop.

Note: You need to run the version compatibale with your system. If you are not sure which version applies to your system download both of them and try to run them.
Only one of them will run on your system, that will be the right version.

[*]Double-click to run it. When the tool opens click Yes to disclaimer.
[*]Press Scan button.
[*]It will make a log (FRST.txt) in the same directory the tool is run. Please attach it to your reply.
[*]The first time the tool is run, it makes also another log (Addition.txt). Please attach it to your reply.

I downloaded Farbar and attach the resulting files. I also found an OTL Extras file in my downloads and attach this in case it helps.

Download attached fixlist.txt to your Desktop.
NOTE: => It’s important that both files, FRST and fixlist.txt are in the same location or the fix will not work.

Run FRST/FRST64 and press the Fix button just once and wait.
If the tool needed a restart please make sure you let the system to restart normally and let the tool completes its run after restart.

The tool will make a log on the Desktop (Fixlog.txt). Please attach it to your reply.
Note: If the tool warned you about the outdated version please download and run the updated version.

***** NEXT *****

Please download AdwCleaner by Xplode and save to your Desktop.

Double click on AdwCleaner.exe to run the tool.

[*]Click on the Scan button.
[*]After the scan has finished click on the Clean button.

Press OK when asked to close all programs and follow the onscreen prompts.
Press OK again to allow AdwCleaner to restart the computer and complete the removal process.

[*]After rebooting, a logfile report (AdwCleaner[S0].txt) will open automatically.
[*]Post logfile will also be saved in the C:\AdwCleaner folder.

Thank you for your reply:

I ran the suggested programs. After the computer had rebooted I clicked the Chrome button and was advised that Google hadn’t shut down properly: I clicked “restore” and my last (e-mail a/c and download) pages were restored. Following this the unwanted web search page re-appeared. Under “WEB SEARCH” there is a search panel: under the search panel there are logos/links to Google Apps (two for Google Mail: one for Google Search and one for Google Chrome).

The “WEB SEARCH” page also carries a teaser that says I have won an IPhone. When I click to cancel this teaser/ad a new page that displays a “yads.zedo.com” address. The page carries a Not Found notice plus a string of information that ends with “was not found on this server”. Underneath that there is a line then the statement: "ZEDO 3G Server at yads.zedo.com Port 80.

Zedo was one of the files that would not allow itself to be deleted on an earlier search. If I recall correctly this file had “fraud” after the file name.

What about Adwcleaner report?

Didn’t realize that there was a report: I downloaded and ran Adware again and attach the report.

The unwanted web browser shows an internet address in the address bar as follows:

http://static.flipora.com/websearch.html?ref_type=ihome&src_type=tg&tv=7.416&t=7.416&bcb=2014-06-26&u=19097218&h=cHsyJdzp7BStW0L5Dm--Ajq2mLb62FIyQKHZb6h9rro&d=0

I have searched for “static-flipora” on my hard disk but cannot move the files to my recycle bin
