Update address change?

Hi, this is probably nothing but I thought it best to check.

I noticed when updating from an older version (I think it was 4.8.1288, I’m uncertain) to 4.8.1290 that the url address reported for the updates has changed. What used to be download900.avast.com (as an example) has become a626sm.avast.com (as another example). I just wanted to check that this is an intentional change and that there is no malicious software on my computer redirecting or some other unusual thing, since the subdomain had changed and the update was unusually slow (though that could simply be a connection issue.)

May I also take this opportunity to thank you for providing such a good product as avast. :slight_smile:

There over 100 download servers to balance the load so it could be any of the named servers in the servers.def file. Though many in that file now just have the IP address to combat any possible DNS hijacking, etc.

avast does an integrity check as part of the download/installation of the updates.

You should have seen the normal avast update progress screens, etc.
