The usual loop about being up to date or not. I actually have 10010400 in defs, and the program argues about whether I have today’s update, gives an “unable to update” error message.
Can you update manually after a restart?
We’re complaining about this since the beta phase :
Try a repair of avast, as this has in the past (4.8) resolved this out of sync issue between reported and actual VPS version.
On version 5, this does not help in anyway… the error comes back from time to time.
Maybe a no-proxy issue? The permanent or dial-up setting of avast?
Repair didn’t help, so did a restart and got the update correctly this time. Hoped there might be some resolution by now, but still easier than uninstall/reinstall. Thanks all.
BTW, has anyone heard from Alwil lately?
They could be buying chocolates to celebrate the Easter on Sunday
By all accounts there is meant to be a beta refresh after the Easter weekend, according k.u.r.t. in another topic (why beta was mentioned is beyond me). So we will have to see if there is anything in this beta/pre release version whatever it might be.
A pre release beta ??? Cute! Anyways, better than alpha… ;D
Lets not get too excited, whilst it was posted by one of the Alwil team, I actually doubt it will be a pre-beta or beta, but a pre-release version possibly to see if it addresses problems reported which they have been working on.
So I suggest you wait for any official notification in the Forum by Vlk of any program update and what its categorisation it is given…
