I just noticed upon updating to the latest version that it still says theres an update available. Is this simply a bug,and if so,when will it be fixed?
What exact version do you have installed ?
I have version 2015.10.2.2214 installed.
Same including mine are reporting that 2015.10.0.2214 is the latest version. Refer to this https://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=167202.0
Did you reboot a few times ?
Yes,I did a reboot twice, and it still says it. I checked everything on control panel, and my anti-virus as well as firewall and spyware protection is all active and ok. So i’m thinking it might be a bug on the update servers or something.
Eddy my avast version is 2015.10.0.2208 and it is reporting that 2015.10.0.2214 is available. In which avast released version 2015.10.2.2208
I have 2015.10.2.2214 installed and only saw one problem that was fixed after another reboot.
“avast offer tool encountered a problem”
Latest version is 10.2, the program itself is displaying that a new version is available 10.0. The update server is broadcasting the wrong number making the program think there’s an update when there is none.
I rarely post in this forum, but was compelled to today by this latest Avast Update. I won’t bother re-stating what others have shared regarding their unpleasant experiences with this update. I’ve experienced each one of those “issues” today.
Someone in the forum said that the computer needed to be restarted 2 or 3 times after applying this update. Well, that did nothing but slow my computer boot-up to a crawl. Normally, my computer (even with Avast) starts up in approx. 43 seconds. After two reboots with this latest version of Avast, it took over 2 minutes and 50 seconds! My boot analyzer said that the Avast process consumed a whopping 2 minutes and 10 seconds of that.
So, I followed another poster’s advice and downloaded the AvastClear program removal tool, rebooted into Safe mode, ran the tool, and restarted. Now, this Win7 64bit IE11 PC is back to it’s old self, with a 41 second boot-up time.
The problem is, I’m unprotected, aside from the Windows Firewall. For others who removed Avast today, did you download it again, and is it now working as it did before the update? Or, did you resort to another Anti-Virus program to replace Avast, until the company gets this major bug fixed? Please advise. Thank-you.

See https://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=167184.msg1189704#msg1189704 - doing a manual virus definitions update should resolve this.
Just an update to say that I “fixed” the update bug by totally removing the latest AVAST, installing a prior (Nov 2014) version from filehippo and setting the Avast Program Update setting to “Manual”. Avast and my PC are now starting-up fast and getting along well again. I’ll just let Avast stay at version #10.2.2214, and not attempt not “fix” something that ain’t broke again, LOL.
