Update crashed mt pc 2x now, HAD to do a SAFE MODE recovery both times!!??
WTF have you done NOW?
Could NOT open Windows7(64)Quad, no firewall(Online Armor), no Avast, Rocket Doc was frozen, could not get into the control panel, NOTHING!
ANYONE have an answer for this?
Had you done a System Restore prior to doing this update?
No restore points done in the last 2 months. I had my HD replaced and did a full install back then. Everything has been working fine until this update. Using my desktop now, laptop is still in SAFE MODE.
Uninstalling AVAST, Spybot S&D, Online Armor.
Will reinstall in same order in safe mode and see what happens.

You can’t install in Safe Mode. Windows Installer service is not running…
You can only safely uninstall.
Any .mdmp files in the avast log folder?
avast crashed my PC as well after the upgrade 2 days ago i had a brain fart and couldn’t do a system restore, fresh install now. I’m a bit worried about installing this again. avast has served me well for years. I’m not slamming on them or anything. i would avoid the upgrade that came out this week until this issue can be further investigated. BTW i had the same issues as the original poster. this was on a g73 asus.
