Update Error

I created an update task to update both program and vps with no reboot set. One of the machines got the following error:

9/15/2004 4:15:19 PM 1095279319 NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM 584 Function setifaceUpdatePackages() has failed. Return code is 0x20000011, dwRes is 20000011.

The rest worked fine.

Error code means “broken package”. Can you send the contents of the file \setup\setup.log from that machine?

The email is titled setup.log (how original eh?) and is on it’s way.

Just one more question – doesn’t the machine, by any chance, have (together with English) also installed the CZECH language module?

For example, isn’t there a \Czech directory?

Also, can you send me \setup\setup.ini from that machine?

I already know where the problem is. The machine is still using build 100 (that was part of beta 2) which cannot be directly updated to RC-x builds (as noted in the readme ;))

A quick workaround is:

  1. On that machine, delete the reg key HKLM\Software\ALWIL Software (yes, brute but effective)
  2. Push a new installation onto the machine from the console.
