Update Error

Hi folks,

Is anyone getting this sorts of issues? Screenshot provided!!!

This issues goes from updating VPS to error and vice verse. At the end it ends up in a error.

Yes! same here, thank god it’s not just me lol. Me and some friends are having the same error

I’m getting the same.

Me too, read here http://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=146270.msg1062044#msg1062044

Did a repair of Avast Free Edition via add/remove. Restarted my laptop. Tried to do a manual VPS update via Avast GUI, but then it said “setup already running”. So i waited and waited. Next minute this came up at the bottom right hand corner. This must be a issue/problem within Avast and their servers. I will do a manual VPS update 1st thing tomorrow morning and see if the problem as gone.

P.S.: Did any one of you guys do a clean install.

This is as follows:

Control panel > programs > avast > add/remove < choose repair

If it doesn’t:

  1. Download Avastclear, Rejzors uninstall tool and the appropriate Avast program edition.
Here are the installer links. Note: You need to be ONLINE during this install.

  3. Run Rejzors Uninstall Utility in Normal Mode (removes traces avastclear doesn’t) - reboot.

  4. Be Sure Too Check Once Uninstall is Complete:Device Manager>View>Show Hidden Devices

  5. Install the version you downloaded.
  6. Reboot.

I got the error also but its now back up and updated for me at least?

Same screen shot on my laptop too :o
But I saw an update for the program (below) some minutes later I did it and restart the computer after that everything is ok now.

Definitions update like normal again.

Maybe the demand of the new program cause the unavailability of the new definitions I guest. 8)

No VPS update problems here, on either of my systems, XP Pro, win7 with avast free 9.0.2013.

That’s because server is back, up and running, now.

New definition version # 140214-1

I wasn’t specifying any particular VPS, as I haven’t had any problems with VPS updates over the last few days. Lucky I guess.

You just have better timing/schedule than some of us.

Problem was only experienced for the past few hours as far as we can tell from time elapsed between last successful update attempt and the first unsuccessful one.

Now everything is normal again. It was the Avast servers problem, but now everything is normal. Avast automatically updated my VPS
