I just got a message popup that my updating will be expiring on Avast. what is the deal with that? Will I have to do it manually from now on or what? ???

Updates on the Home version expire after 14 months. You need to get a new key (free).
If you have the pro version, you need to pay again for a new key.

I really like Avast for virus protection and have reccomended it to my friends. I`ll just go and re-register.
Yes this is my first post here.
I almost lost it when it popped up and said it was expiring. I have had people tell me they had viruses on their computer and they had Norton! Avast has caught some email viruses before my computer got infected and even got rid of one that did get on my computer without losing any files or crashing my computer.

Happy the problem was resolved for you.
In Home version (which expires after 14 months) you can register again and fill the new key into the propter dialog.
You do not need to uninstall and install again…
