I’ve clicked on aVast! Antivirus in the notification area of Windows (the quick-start area?), then Update. The attached window showing the overall progress appears for a long time – c. 15 minutes or so.
I got tired and decided to post this message – to see if others have experienced – and whether they could comment on the normal duration of an update.
Try a repair Control Panel>Uninstall>double click “avast”>click “repair”>reboot
This was an issue during beta testing but was fixed.
Is this the first time this has occurred? ???
Have you tried to manual update through the GUI? ???
Okay, I clicked on Repair in the Control Panel/Add-Remove Programs area, then clicked on the aVast! icon. The current version indicated was 130323-1, and the date of the update was today, so the repair worked like a charm.
