Today I was exploring more the settings on avast5 when I see this

What this does? and if I don’t check any of the settings what happen?

Leave them alone, it could impact on the ability to do auto updates.
Normally they are there if there is a problem with your connection for updates, this was effective in avast 4.8, but for some reason choosing one option can stop you getting auto updates. So it is best to leave well alone if you aren’t experiencing problems.
How do you connect? Dial-up or DSL (permanent)?
