update problem with free version

iuse winxp sp3,os updated.
since this morning i have problem updating definitions…
last i have is 110409-1
it was working ok…no programs or system changes

Does the avast software gives some warming/error when you are updating the definitions?
You can also try to download the signatures manually. http://www.avast.com/download-update

What def version is shown now?
Mine say 110410-1 as of 4/10/11 00:58 AM GMT

hey guys i still have the 110409-1
click on update but it remains in initializing
also at the restaring i got a red color warning about failing to update.

i also unplug webrep and sandbox in avast
got sandboxie working.

Is the time and date correct on your machine?

Have you tried an Avast Repair:

  • Go to Control Panel > Add/Remove programs > Avast Antivirus.
  • Scroll down and choose Repair function in the pop-up window.
  • Reboot.

got sandboxie,windows firewall,pc behing a router
will try the repair now…let you know.

ok control panel-add remover didn’t work-clcicking on the program did nothing-
so i use the uninstall tool in safe mode.
reinstall,turn off webrep and sandbox…updated to 110411-0

note: when re-register it only register till 7-10-2011
