Update Problems 20April

When I updated AVAST to the version recommended today, I lost my internet connection. Set up the connection manually, but my WEP would not be accepted. Tried everything and had to resort to a system restore. I hope the AVAST techs sort the problem out soon. Will be downloading an alternative AV s/w to hold in reserve in case they don’t. Has anybody had similar problems?

  • Which avast!..?? (Free/Pro/IS/Premier)
  • Which version…??
  • OS…?? (32/64 Bit…? - which SP…?)
  • Other security related software installed…??
  • Which AV(s) did you use before avast!..??

Running AVAST Premier - current version (before update) is 2014.9.0.2016. Have never run any other AV s/w on this computer.

My OH had to dump AVAST (same version) because he kept getting blue screens of death which trace back to AVAST. Pity. It used to be a brilliant piece of kit.

  1. Download avast! Premier Antivirus: http://files.avast.com/iavs9x/avast_premier_antivirus_setup.exe
  2. Follow instructions: http://www.avast.com/uninstall-utility (Run this tool for all prior installed avast! versions…!!)
  3. Reinstall avast! with the downloaded installer from point 1.
  4. Reboot.
