Update VPS slow.

Hi

Recently I’ll update to a Avast 5. The problem is that the update of the VPS is very slow in comparison with Avast 4.8. I wait that someone help me.

I have Windows XP Professional Service Pack 2

Hi Dolivag,

Is the vps update slow when you installed v5 for the first time and updated? Or is it slow every time you update the vps?

Also, what is your broadband speed ? (hint: speedtest.net )

Windows SP3 is out for a while. Please update to it as soon as possible. Also, the support from Microsoft for “SP2” will be ending soon.

Since I upgrade Avast v5 the vps update is slow. With Avast v4.8 the upgrade was quick.

The broadband speed is 56K.

Since you have installed the new version, it takes time to download the latest vps updates for the first time. The successive vps updates (which are smaller) should be downloaded in less time. Let us know when you update it the next time.

The first time with Avast v5 was near 1 hour and the last update was 45 minutes.

With Avast 4.8 the time to download was as a rule 10 minutes.

First time with avast 5 and 60 mins is oki on 56Kb(bit) link, I guess.

But the second 45 mins is not oki.

Check it for a day or 2 and let us know. It should be less.
