Update your Avast protection to the newest 2016 version keeps popping up

Avast keeps telling me to update it. It only pops this up when I update through right-clicking the task bar. Is this a bug and how can I fix it?

[and yes I am up to date, I even uninstalled and reinstalled.]

Did you use the uninstall tool ?
If not…

  • Remove avast through control panel
  • Run the uninstall tool
  • Install the latest avast version (2016)

I just finished, I used the tool in safe mode like the instructions mentioned but the message still pops up.

Strange.

If you open the avast UI, what version does it say that is installed ?

What OS/SP ?
Is or was there a other av (or security software) on the system ?

This appears to be a bug in the new version and is only present if a manual update is triggered

It says, Program version 11.1.2241, I’m on Windows 10 64bit and no other AV. . .

So does that mean there’s no way to fix it other than waiting for next update?

:o yep, its a bug, i have the new 2016 avast free version, and when i do a manual update, it does the same thing.
i hope they fix it.
