Updated Avast and now Avast Firewall is disconnecting my VPN

I recently updated my Avast IS to the latest version. After doing so, I have not been able to connect to my VPN (Am using EarthVPN) successfully as it always gets disconnected after a couple or so minutes. When I turn off Avast Firewall, it stops doing that. How can I get Firewall to stop disconnecting my VPN connection? I am not going to switch to Secureline, sorry.

Help, please.

No other security software installed.

First, be sure to get rid of all remnants of your prior installed AV(s)…!!

Then:

  1. Download Avast Internet Security: https://files.avast.com/iavs9x/avast_internet_security_setup.exe
  2. Follow instructions: https://www.avast.com/uninstall-utility (Run this tool for all prior installed Avast versions…!!)
  3. Reinstall Avast with the downloaded installer from point 1.
  4. Reboot.

It didn’t work. Why would it suddenly start doing this? I’ve wasted so much time trying to figure this out…

Seems a 6-year paying user doesn’t mean a thing to Avast and wants me to revert back to Avast Free. 2 days and no response for my ticket. Avira looks more promising by the day…

Same here - tried to add number of rules to firewall and play around with various combination of settings but no luck. Is there any forecast as to when a fix to this annoying behaviour is available?
