Updated Avast and now my download speed is reduced.

Hi,

I updated the Avast program today and I’ve noticed that when I download using my download manager (Internet Download Manager) the speed as dropped by over half.

I disabled Avast and tried to download something again and my speeds increased again.

I have IDM program file already in the exclusion list.

I noticed when I did the update, avast didn’t say it was completed after the reboot. Is this normal behaviour now or should it have done that?

That seems to have solved the problem.

This computer is quite old now so I can see how it might struggle to keep up with all the extra (now standard) scanning techniques.
