Updated avast, no more boot scan results/logs

Thank you for your comments.
I made sure that all the (Report file - Generate Report file ) settings were turned on.
I was also able to locate C:\ProgramData\AVAST Software\Avast\report (my fault , I had to make sure it was showing hidden files)

Now after running a scan:

1. the logs show up in the C:\ProgramData\AVAST Software\Avast\report

2. HOWEVER, they still do not display in the AVAST User Interface Scan Log page!

Oh well, at least I can hunt them down outside the UI.

Wonder if anyone else is having this issue? Or is it just me?

Hi all…

I posted sometime back (as have many others) about the fact that boot time scan logs are no longer showing up in the UI Scan History. Does anyone have any idea why this is not being addressed??? While these logs can be found manually, I’m assuming that many people who are running Avast and boot scans are not aware of this, and are perplexed as to why boot time scans (which are in fact scans) are not showing up in the UI Scan History (which is supposed to be the history of scans).

If this removal of boot time scan logs from the UI Scan History is intentional, hopefully someone from Avast can put this to bed once and for all.

jquartic I have the exact same issue, cannot access bootlog because it does not exist.
I only want to know what this latest update found in my Boot because it reduced my startup time substantially (DOWN TO 24SECONDS)
I’m curious to know if I was some sort of bot before!

I have been using avast for probably 15 years and over the years I think the program has gotten worse. Why do we have to open 20 folders to view logs stored in different places. There should be a simple easy to view place in the gui to view all logs. There should be a panel dedicated to virus scan reports like most virus shields. It is very annoying. Doesn’t any one else feel that they should not have to google it to remember where to view the logs? I know where they are at but it is not very intuitive to a new user who absolutely has to google it.

PS your verification method is ridiculous too. You cannot even read the letters and it appears to be cap sensitive so that the audio does not help much either.
