Updated Avast, now buttons & Yahoo mail not working

I just upgraded 6 computers to Avast Internet Security 5.0.545 . 4 computers work fine with it, 2 of them won’t let you click buttons on webpages (it moves, but doesn’t follow link) and will not display Yahoo mail. The problem is with internet explorer 7 & 8. Avast even blocks their own homepage from displaying correctly on these 2 computers. I can view yahoo “classic” mail mode, but not the “new” mail. Even when I disable Avast I still can’t view my mail so I’m assuming it changed some settings in internet explorer.

The only other antivirus type software is Windows defender and Malware bytes.

Also Google chrome works fine so far and will log into yahoo mail and can click buttons.

My boss is comfortable with internet explorer and I need to get his mail back up and running (since he paid for the Avast upgrade)

Thanks in Advance.

Don`t no if this will work but have you tried avast repair and reboot ?

For a repair of avast. Windows, Add Remove programs, select ‘avast! Anti-Virus,’ click the Change/Remove button from the pop-up window, scroll down to Repair, click next and follow.

-tried repair with no luck.

I was mistaken on buttons not working. It was blocking buttons that lead to downloads. Even those seem to be working on IE8 so mainly the problem is trying to run Yahoo mail. I’m no expert but the new mail runs an interactive environment (java?) and it is like it won’t load it. It shows my name at the top and a search box, but nothing else. I don’t know the difference from Java and active x but it is that type thing that is being blocked. Are there any settings in Internet explorer that could be causing the problem that the Avast install changed?

One more thing, i went to www.weather.com and just get a bunch of text links and a few pics. Again, seems to be blocking javascript or whatever the weather channel uses.

Since the install was good on 4 of the 6 computers, that indicates there is a difference with the 2 computers that are having a problem. What can you tell us about these differences?
