I’m a paid user going on two years now, just did the update to Internet Security 8 on my desktop, and all was fine. Tried it on my netbook/laptop, had some error, restarted the computer and it said it could not locate some avast file. I updated 8 again and it was fine, but it tells me I’m in trial mode and have 29 days left and the option to buy. I already paid months ago, so what’s the deal with this? I also have a third computer to update and don’t want to run into any problems on that. Thanks for any help.

If you have furthers problems with your errors you can just try a repair or a full uninstall of it with the http://www.avast.com/en-us/uninstall-utility of avast so just follow the steps.
But if all is great then you dont need to do this.

Oh yes by the way if you want to use it in multiple pcs be sure you are using it exactly the numbers of pcs you did purchase/have possibility of activate. Also be sure that the license is still valid/got exactly enought days lefts.
