I’m a long time user of Avast. I think you have been excellent for a long time…a few problems of late, but I think you are working on getting things back to excellent.
I have a question about the Avast database update… The woman’s voice repeats that “The Avast database has been updated” right after she finishes the first announcement. Is this a new addition and I just lately picked up on it? Or maybe last time I update the program, I should have removed the old one before installing 7.0.1456??? Do I have a problem that I can fix?
Also, I still do not like that when I run Avast, it brings up Archive errors concerning password protected (42056) files and does not tell me what to do about them. i.e put them in the chest, remove, etc…Next time I run Avast! they are there again. Any ideas how to fix these apparently false findings? I worry if they need to be drowned and / or how to do that.
thanks,
files that can not be scanned are just that, it does not mean they are infected
avast is a antivirus program…the only files of interest for it are infected files. when it detect one it is given a malware name. so it will not take any action on not infected files
avast is just giving you a scan error report and the reason why…no more no less
Berta.
