Hello avast!, I just opened my avast! Internet Security user Interface and it told me thay I only had 13 days left on my subscription. I clicked the button to renew my subscription for another year and payed (through Paypal) then downloaded my new license.avastlic file. BUT the system is DUMB, that is the subscription is dated one year from today; 25 April 2012, not one year from the end of my previous subscription; May 7, 2011. I have just lost 13 days! not a really big deal, but this is not good, you guys should be able to do better than this. I know your evil nemisis NORTON does it right! I use avast! as I feel it is a superior product, especially your Boot Time Scan catches things that Norton version just doesn’t see. So please fix this! Best regards, Stephen William Foyle swf46@rogers.com
The subscription begins from the day you purchase it. This is also true with many other software products. We here on the forum cannot change this, so the link given to you in the previous post is a way to contact Avast and you can discuss it with them.
In the future, you now know this. For your information, you will get a 14-day warning before your subscription is due to expire. Thank you.
I thought the paid subscriptions started on the date of purchase.
They do.
That is how Avasst does it. Subscriptions with Avast are always considered new even if you renew. So the expiration clock begins on the day that you purchased the new license whether it is a renewal or a new license. It is the same on an upgrade.
Dear user,Unfortunately in whatever product you purchase, the license validation always start on the date you place the order.
You cannot fix later dates manually.
If you need more help, please get back to me.
