Why don’t you try uninstalling and then installing again ZA?

just the uninstalling part did the trick…I DO, have the Linksys firewall, and will continue with it.

Your hardware firewall is unlikely to provide any unauthorised outbound protection.

Any malware that manages to get past your defences will have free reign to connect to the internet to either download more of the same, pass your personal data (sensitive or otherwise, user names, passwords, keylogger retrieved data, etc.) or open a backdoor to your computer, so outbound protection is essential.

I think I have it working. My firewall is comodo. I went in and found out it was blocking avast.setup. I unblocked it and haven’t seen it come up red yet…we will see. I don’t know why this happened after the new version downloaded when it never happened before that. Just thanks to everyone for giving me things to look at and fix. :-* I appreciate the help
