The ActiveX control that installs Kasperksy Online Scanner is found vulnerable. Users of their online scanner should upgrade to new version.
The new component (kavwebscan.dll) is version 5.0.98.0. It resolves critical vulnerabilities that can be exploited to execute arbitrary code when, for example, a user visits a specially crafted website using the Internet Explorer Web browser.
To find out what version you have:
Go to C:\WINDOWS\system32\Kaspersky Lab\Kaspersky Online Scanner
Look for kavwebscan.dll
Check the version of that dll file. If it’s not version 5.0.98.0, update it by launching the Kaspersky Online Scanner
