I do want to stay current. But I am not sure about getting the new 1.4 spybot search and destroy. Will this come in as an update? Or do I have to start all over again and download it? If so do I uninstall the 1.3 first or install on top of it?
Thanks for the help.

Emma
You install it right on top of the old one just make sure the program isn’t running when you do the install.
As far as I know, you’ll have to download the new version.

For any one whose updated EverestHome, I still have version 1.10 and 1.51 available and would be glad to upload one of them
onto my server if any one needs it.

MS Antispyware Beta definition update version 5721 to version 5723

Zone Alarm Pro beta 6.0.591.000 Main difference noted so far is an integral spyware scan thingy (everyone is in to it) and the ability to rate programmes as super, trusted, restricted and kill not sure what they mean yet. Have set the privacy and cookie control to high to see if it stops messing with webshield.

Have you got alink for that? I can’t find it on the ZA site. ???

Yep I got it from beta news http://www.betanews.com/

Cheers!

Ok it looks like the ZA trusted or restricted option changes the programme selected from admin user to limited user. I found this out when media player wouldn’t play my music unless it was trusted in ZA and also firefox couldn’t call up the dialler connection unless it was made trusted Oh fun and games to come … Severe lack of help file on the new elements.

Microsoft Update has been…urm…updated. :stuck_out_tongue:

uummm confused on this one Frank do I want it or not?.. ::slight_smile:

Next time you check for updates you will get it willy-nilly: it checks for updates to all office products at the same time so you don’t have to do a separate search for office products.

Question: My windows update didn’t detect anything. What kind of update is this? ???

The site, the install engine, windows + office updates, etc.
Just follow the link and update your Windows files (ActiveX must be enabled).

Oh this is office updates? I don’t really need it then since the computer I’m using is for Home use only.

It’s for updates to all MS products. Before you had to search for OS and Office products separately; now the updates page cehecks for both at the same time.

If you visit the link:

http://update.microsoft.com/microsoftupdate/v6/default.aspx

with IE, you will need to accept a couple of ActiveX installations to update update.

If you visit with Firefox, you won’t see anything, of course.
