The only saving grace is that the firefox 1.0.1 download is only 4.7MB, there are bigger patches for IE than that ;D

a2 program update
In Andreas Haak’s (creator of a2) words:
Hi,we just completed the rollout of a² v1.6. We had to do it in stages to avoid an overload of our update servers. Everyone will ask what is new - well I will tell you:
Added some IDS components
In fact we added the behavorial detections for backdoors, worms, dialers and some other stuff. Feel free to test the IDS features. We are sure you will be impressed .Made Riskware detection optional
Several users asked for it and your wishes are our duties . We added an option to disable the detection of Riskware completelyAdded heuristic modules
Some heuristics were added for - mostly - trojans and dialers.GUI changes
We changed the GUI a little bit to make it easier to understand.Consistent language files
All language files of languages we support (spanish, german, english, frensh) were updated. If you want to update the language file of your language just look into the file English.lng. All changed and added strings are marked.A new setup package will be available in about 2 - 10 hours (depending on how fast we get the missing translations). To update from versions before 1.6 to 1.6 simply run the updater and restart if neccessary. A complete reinstall of a² is NOT neccessary.

Anther update to my website:

Ad-Aware Definations update SE1R29 05-03-2005 available
Unbelievable, I just checked and nothing…
EDIT (update): OK manual update (download from official web site) did the trick…
It took me several attempts to get the download to take.
First attempt after opening adaware and getting the definitions greater than 14 days, recognised update available, downloaded it but it didn’t change the details.
Second attempt, from the program check for updates, update available, downloaded and same again it didn’t change. The third download took and updated my status details. It would appear that they are having some server problems and may have put a temporary block on it ???
Yes I experienced similar problems with Ad-Aware update procedure before. Good thing, there is one way that always works 100%… download latest defs file from the official web site and replace the old one with new one… it always works. I had to perform that little trick this time as well…
Cheers !
Thanks for the heads up, and its about time too\
EDIT: I downloaded the manual update and Adaware still says its the 16.2.2005 ???
Keep trying until it takes or do as Sasha did, download the definitions manually from the website.
Yes Watchthisspace, do as DavidR suggested… don’t forget to unzip that file when you download it, and save it over the original defs file in your ad-aware installation folder. Replace the old one with the new one…
