I shut off the antivirus engine, just using the antispyware engine. 
No Ashampoo for me that wants my email address!
I will not shut off my antispyware engine to install anything from Ashampoo!

Please re-read rdmaloyjr’s instructions. He said nothing about turning off your antispyware engine.

If Ashampoo wants that kind of control then it can rest in my Un-Necessary bin.
I think all he was saying is that he chose to only use the anti-spyware part because he didn’t want an AV conflict with Avast!
There were several threads here a while ago with Asyn and me re: Ashampoo and conflicts with Avast. Once people uninstalled it, Avast worked fine. Just something to consider, granted this was with v.594 I believe.
