SpywareBlaster update June 3, 2011

31 new IE items - 14393 total items

http://www.javacoolsoftware.com/spywareblaster.html

There is a “major” problem with this thread. Updates happen so quickly and most notify the user via the software UI. Not to mention 468 pages is a bit much. ???

Well it doesn’t matter how big the topic is, that it totally irrelevant as effectively old updates are yesterdays news. It is its activity which keeps it at the top of the listings, so you can see the current updates.

Personally I rarely allow applications to update automatically, avast being one notable exception. So for me it serves a useful purpose as a reminder.

If you don’t like it then don’t bother following it.

I’d disagree that it’s a major problem. Sure, there’s been some discussions which really should have been taken elsewhere (and I’ve been guilty too), but for the most part this topic serves its purpose.

For my own part, with the obvious (and necessary) exception of avast defs, I’ve turned off all auto-updates in applications and utilities, so they’re not competing for internet access, and therefore I’m very dependent on notices posted here. Plus, in a great many cases, I see the update notice here long before auto-updating or even a manual check from within the app shows anything new available.
