Watch out for the ask toolbar.

Weird, seems like the latest version is Sun Java Runtime Environment 7 Update 10 according to MajorGeeks, http://majorgeeks.com/Sun_Java_Runtime_Environment_d7567.html

Doing an update through Control Panel gives me the following:

http://my.jetscreenshot.com/2701/m_20121017-jkzl-18kb.jpg

Subsequent attempt to update through it’s own updater gives me the following:

http://my.jetscreenshot.com/2701/m_20121017-zkej-10kb.jpg

Marc57’s download link does bring a newer version:

All this proves is that the auto update lags behind the actual newest available release.

Well I didn’t test the actual download file from majorgeeks (other than its file name indicating 7 update 10) as I have removed JAVA of my system, too much hassle with all of the updates to close vulnerabilities.

Here’s some more info on this java confusion http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/java-update-release-numbers-change-1836624.html from what i understand version 7 update 10 is a developer preview and 7 update 9 is the current
