Interesting I’ll wait until final release and run it on my new Asus laptop with W7 Pro 64bit and see if the HIPS have been improved further

I always wait a while after the Outpost regular release as I have found over the years that it pays to wait.
That said since I don’t have win8 (and may never have it), so I don’t know if Outpost 8.0 brings anything to the table for win7 and XP users.

Its a very stable release David, I made sure to check as many of the reviews as possible before posting as I wouldn’t have wanted to recommend a problematic release and it’s running seamless here on win8 and win7 and it has notable improvements and tweaks on all systems
I don’t know if they’ve totally removed the spyware component now as it wasn’t even available via a custom install, maybe it detects AV and is not offered ???
Thanks for the screenshot craigb as I have no idea IF the have change the outlook of the Outpost GUI and they have

I still think it too early to say its stable as the amount of people with the RC build and differing systems, given that this is a big jump. I would still wait for the final release and even then some more time, I have had Outpost even longer than I have had avast (eight and a half years) and I have always found waiting doesn’t hurt.

Your probably right David and being wise, I just like to get in early and test these things, no different than testing the avast RC’s imo

I have a bit better understanding of the avast antivirus, on the other hand my understanding of a firewall is negligible, so I leave testing to those who know something on the subject.
I install the RC8 on my Windows8 and all is smooth and clean, just like the bare basics GUI in this new version, :-\
