Isn’t the uptake of windows phone OS pitiful (marginally ahead of Blackberry), until it gets a reasonable share I can’t see avast doing the work to get it done.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Usage_share_of_operating_systems#Mobile_devices

In Europe it’s growing much faster > LINK

Well fastest growing is a bit of a statistical anomaly, surely when coming from such a low user base, growth looks high. “the past three months to January 2014, show Android almost snatching 70 percent market share across Europe.” so any fastest growth is still going to be way down on overall market share.

I also worry about stats like this when it is from an interested party ‘Windows Phone Central.’

Interestingly there isn’t a split in the collective stats for version number of the varying OSes.

If I was Avast, I would concentrate on protection for the iPhone and iPad.
I’m constantly asked about a version of avast! Mobile Security for that phone.

OT: I strongly agree with Bob because me and my mother both have iPad Mini and we need Avast AV protection for our iPad and I’m still waiting, and I’m thinking about getting an iPhone so I can stop using my old Nokia C2-05 model.

Welcome to Windows XP Service Pack 4 (Unofficial).

I wouldn’t advise anyone to install an alpha build SP.

Shouldn’t be needed if you have SP3 and have been keeping your installation up to date with the Windows Update KBs since SP3 to end of WU support for XP.

[off-topic]
After support ends and unofficial SP4 (if you trust it) will be much depreciated unless you need to do a format and reinstall of XP. But all of that hassle would be greatly reduced if you already have a backup and recovery strategy and making regular drive image backups.
