Edit :

I don’t like Active System Monitoring (new in free version). It looks like it cannot be disabled.

Edit 2 :

To disable Active System Monitoring in CCleaner Free go to Options.
In Monitoring tab uncheck Enable system monitoring.
Then,in Advanced tab uncheck Enable Active Monitoring.Confirm.

Interestingly When I opened CCleaner to make these changes WinPatrol Plus threw up an alert of the ccleaner trying to make the change to startup entries for this CCleaner Monitor function.

@ Bob
I don’t see that Enable Active Monitoring in the monitoring tab - I only see 'Enable Browser Monitoring (which was disabled by default). See my image and there is a Pro lock there that I don’t see in your image.

@David,
Scroll down it’s at the bottom. I had a problem finding it at first myself.

There are no scroll bars in either of my system installations of CCleaner.

EDIT: Even on full screen (1920x1200) I can’t see that option.

@bob

Good catch. Downloaded from their website. I guess they’ve made another update ?

@ DavidR

CCleaner GUI>Options>Advanced>untick the box.

edit: The function was there in v4.18.4842
